The Kingholm Quay Harbour, located in Millhouses, Dumfries, formerly known as the New Quay, served the town of Dumfries and its surroundings. It was situated on the River Nith and was associated with a village and warehouses. The nearby port of Dumfries, along with harbours at Laghall, Kelton, Glencaple, Carsethorn, and Kirkconnell Jetty, supported its function, but it remains unclear if there was a fishing fleet based at Kingholm. Mavisgrove Merse is positioned directly opposite the quay.
Some night photos of old, unused boats.
